Carriage Driving

Operating on a Monday and a Thursday morning 9.30am to 12.00 noon

The Driving Group was formed 10th October 2007. Volunteers spent the winter of 07-08 learning the new skills required. Harnessing, putting the pony to a vehicle and learning to drive. Bob our first driving pony was purchased in March of 2008. The group passed all inspections and  test's by RDA officials in June 2008.

Monday was to be our driving day  but it  proved so popular that another team of volunteers was formed in September 2008 so we could also operate on a Thursday.

We now have ponies Danny, Georgie and Tonto who help our clients to enjoy the art of Carriage Driving.

Anyone is welcome to come along and see us on those mornings with a view to taking part either as a client or a volunteer. You can obtain details from Diane Hirst on 07966 595153.

Horse Riding

Operating on a Monday and Thursday afternoon 1.45pm to 4.00pm

Started in 1968 with 2 clients and has now grown to include 30 clients each week. The group lessons encourage development between horse and rider and offering mobility through the horse. All volunteers are specially trained to communicate with both clients and horses. All instructors are trained to encourage development in a positive learning environment. Enabling all clients to achieve their own personal goals to the best of their ability with the help of ponies Megan, Alice, Freddie, Joey and Bramble.

Please come along and see us if you wish to join as a volunteer or become one of our riders
